About Us The Forth Valley Open Studios was first launched in the summer of 2010 and is an annual is a nine day event which takes place in the Forth Valley, Central Scotland. During the event local artists, galleries and art organisations open their doors to invite the general public to view their art works. The aim of FVOS is to make art more accessible to the public and in particular within their local area, although it is hoped that through time our events will have a draw which will extend beyond the immediate community. We will do this by promoting participating artists/makers and encourage members of the public to visit the open studios. This interaction will be mutually beneficial: participants will have the opportunity to showcase their work and likewise members of the public will gain access to work spaces and experiences that would not normally be available. We believe FVOS is of great cultural and economical importance for the community of the Forth Valley area. Our aim is to bring this event to the area annually and hopefully in the future expand to develop any potential opportunities to promote art in the Forth Valley area. The Forth Valley Open Studios has registered as a Community Interest Company which is a not for profit organisation. The Company was formed by a group of volunteer directors who work together to make the event possible. The project is self-funded: the artist fee and income generated through advertisements in the event brochure creates a small budget to make the event possible.
We are extremely grateful for the support from our Honorary Chair Lys Hansen And a special thanks to the members of our Support Group: Catherine King and Jon Piccolo. Forth Valley Open Studios registered in Scotland as a Community Interest Company Limited by Guarantee No. SC410605 |
